Mildred Marie Grassi
Born in Phillipsburg on April 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Ballato Attinello. Her husband, whom she married on November 20, 1954, Thomas R. Grassi, Sr., passed away on April 12, 2005.
Mildred graduated from St. Philip and St. James High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha, NJ. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and the most important thing in her life was spending time with her family.
She was employed at the .5 and .10 store, formerly on S. Main St. in Phillipsburg and then, before she was married, worked in the advertising office at Ingersoll-Rand.
Survivors are her children; Thomas R. Grassi, Jr., and Dennis J. Grassi and his wife Heidi; daughter in law Brenda Grassi; sisters Theresa Cuvo, Jenny DeStefano, Bessie Attinello and Rosalie Wright; grandchildren Jared T., Rebecca S. and her husband Brian, Luke G. and his wife Kathleen, and Rocky; great-grandchildren Maximus and Lincoln. Mildred was predeceased by her brother Salvatore Attinello and her sister Josephine Phillips.
Viewing hours will be held on Monday June 24, 2019 at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am at the funeral home on Tuesday June 25, 2019 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ.
