Mary T. Hatem Barbary

Mary T. Hatem Barbary, 90, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Luke’s Allentown Hospital.

 Born on May 17, 1931 in Mountainside, NJ, she was the daughter of Victoria and Shafie Hatem. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Barbary, sister Margaret Taylor and brother George Hatem. Mary is survived by her sister, Gloria Hatem, and nephews, Mark, Christopher, and Kevin Hatem and their families of Texas.

 Mary graduated from high school in DeLand, Florida and later moved to Paterson, NJ where she met and married her husband, George. She worked for Continental Baking Company. In their retirement, Mary and George moved to Phillipsburg.

A private graveside service of Christian burial will be held at the St. Philip & St. James Catholic Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at a later date at the Church.

 Contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. The Finegan Funeral Home in Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
