She was an only child raised in Alpha, N.J., along with her cousins, Georgianna, Tommy, Michael and Petey, who became her siblings. She attended St. Mary’s Grammer School and later Phillipsburg High School.
She was married to John J. Durnin Jr., who has remained a friend throughout her life. Together they had five children: son John J. Durnin III and wife Aimee; Daughters: Michele and husband Kevin Ruppert; Christine and husband Robert Deacon; Bridget and husband Matthew Pastula; and Holly and husband Terrance Merante.
She has had various jobs and recently worked in the real estate industry; however her most rewarding vocation was that of devoted mother, grandmother and daughter to Grace and stepfather James Dougherty.
