Marian E. Tone

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, Marian was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Becker Miller. She was a graduate of Belvidere High School in 1946 and had previously been employed by Belvidere Hosiery, Smith Pharmacy and Lehigh Valley Frock.

Marian’s greatest achievement was her creation of the TONE BEAR and she was best known as the ‘Bear Lady’ on College Hill. For the past 30 years Marian has been involved in family genealogy, tracing her roots as far back as 1770. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Belvidere and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Easton.

Survivors are her children; Gerald and wife Mary, Joseph and companion Mary Ellen, Patrick and wife Sarah, Mary Agnes Heilman and husband Lee, as well as 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Bernard Miller. Marian was predeceased by a son Thomas.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 132 S. 5th Street, Easton, PA 18042. The interment will be at the Belvidere Cemetery in Belvidere, NJ. There are no Calling hours. The Finegan Funeral Home in Palmer Township is arranging services. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
