Lucille Pursell Gill

Lucille Pursell Gill, 90, of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
Born on October 15, 1929, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Dana Pursell and Marie Masters Pursell Kahrs.
Lucille and her beloved husband, Andrew J. "Andy" Gill, were married for 58 ½ years when he passed away on Easter Sunday, 2008, and resided in Stewartsville, NJ, since 1960. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School's Class of 1947 and attended the University of Pennsylvania's School of Nursing.
Lucille was then employed by the Bell Telephone Company of PA, retiring in 1978 after 30 years of service. She was also employed in later years by John Ashley; her favorite breed of dog was the Bouvier des Flanders and she was a life member of the American Bouvier des Flandres Club.
Lucille was also a member of the Allentown Dog Training Club, the American Bouvier Rescue League, the Comfort Caring Canines and the NJ Bear Education and Rescue Group. She was a former Founding Member of the Delaware Water Gap Kennel Club, and was a member of the National Wildlife Federation, the Association of Bell Telephone Retirees and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Lucille was of the Lutheran faith and a former member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, NJ.
She is survived by her loving nephew, Thomas Scheier, and his wife, Ruth, who cared for her in her final years, her sister-in-Law, Evelyn Vanderbilt and her husband, Ronald, her brother-in-Law, Richard Gill, and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her husband and her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her brother, William Dana Pursell.
At Lucille's request, there will be no viewing or services.
