Lena V. Getch
Lena V. Getch, 84, of Forks Twp., Pa., formerly of Alpha, NJ, passed away at her home, surrounded by her son and daughter, on October 8, 2019.
Born on March 23, 1935, in Alpha, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Leona Pfeiffer Degirolamo. Her husband, Warren A. Getch, Sr., passed away in 1986.
Lena graduated from St. Philip and St. James Parochial High School in 1953 and was a lifelong member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha, NJ. She was employed with the Phillipsburg School District as a cafeteria worker and previously worked at Ingersoll-Rand, formerly in Phillipsburg.
She is survived by her children; LuAnn Rush-Duckworth and husband Charles “Bummer” of Forks Twp., PA and Warren “Porky” Getch, Jr., and his companion Ann E. Lear, also of Forks Twp., PA; her grandson, Warren “Rusty” Getch III and his wife Kylie, of Wilson Borough, PA; her great-grandchildren; Dublyn, Donovan, Dreysen, Declan and Denton; and her sister, Sandra Vannatta and her husband James. Lena was predeceased by her brother Leonard Degirolamo.
A viewing hour will be held on Friday October 11, 2019 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Ave., Alpha, NJ followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
