Kurt Maslo

Kurt Maslo, 82, of Lopatcong NJ passed away April 12, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

Born in Braunau, Germany on April 15, 1940, he was the son of the late Josef and Elfriede (Huebler) Maslo.

Kurt came to the United States via boat from Germany at the age of 15 after spending 13 days at sea. In 1965 he met his wife to be, Gisela Deske, and they married one year later and settled down to have their family in Summit, NJ.

Kurt was a tool and die maker by trade and was skilled in auto mechanics, HVAC, and electrical work. He retired in 2002 from Micro Stamping in Somerset, NJ.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gisela (Deske) Maslo, his two daughters Anita Maslo Turner of Clinton, NJ and Christina Maslo Zamek and brother-in-law Frank Zamek of Cumming, GA, grandchildren Nicole Zamek, Alex Turner, Audrey Turner, and Amanda Zamek.

Kurt will be remembered and missed by many for his sense of humor, willingness to help others, and his generosity. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at St. Luke’s hospital who cared for him, as well as friends and relatives for their unconditional love.

A celebration of his life will be held at Finegan Funeral Home 302 Heckman St. Phillipsburg, NJ on Thursday, April 20 from 10 am to 11:30 am.
