Joseph P. McIntyre

Joseph P. McIntyre, 87, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away on Jan. 10, 2020, at Holy Family Manor, in Bethlehem, PA.

Born on April 16, 1932, in St. Georges, Grenada, he was the son of the late Conrad McIntyre and Rachel (Cumberbatch) McIntyre. 

Joseph retired from New Brunswick Scientific in Edison, NJ where he was employed for 10 plus years.  Joseph was an avid cricketer.  He played for the Dauntless Cricket Club in Grenada, Barbados and Brooklyn, NY.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Merle (Romain) McIntyre, his daughter; Jacinta (McIntyre) Saporito and husband Michael of Lopatcong Township, NJ, his son; Gerard McIntyre of New York, NY, his grandchildren; Bernard Burns of Chicago, IL and Sarah Saporito of Bethlehem, PA, his sister, Monica (McIntyre) Belgrave and her husband Emile, of the United Kingdom and his nephews; Andrew Belgrave and Neil Belgrave of the United Kingdom and David McIntyre of Trinidad and Tobago.  In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brother, Michael McIntyre.

Viewing Hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, from 6 to 8 PM, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St, Phillipsburg, NJ. There will be an additional Viewing Period the following day, Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, from 8:30 to 9:15 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 AM at Saint Philip and Saint James Church, 430 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ.
