Joseph James Cavanaugh, Jr.

Joseph James Cavanaugh, Jr., 51, of Palmer Twp., Pa., passed away suddenly on March 15, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.

Born on October 6, 1971 in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of Joseph Cavanaugh Sr. and Mary Sweet.

Joseph was a locksmith working for Maffey’s Security Group in Elizabeth, NJ for many years. He also worked for Lehigh University in the Access control department.

Joe loved all things Star Wars, Disney, gaming, LEGO, and Marvel/DC movies. He also loved to cook and enjoyed his work as a locksmith.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Mary and his step-mother, Sarah Cavanaugh. He is also survived by his loving wife, Angela Macias Cavanaugh, his beloved sons, Luke and Ryan Cavanaugh, along with his siblings, Gregory and Gloria Cavanaugh, and Jonathan and Jessica Sweet.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. at The Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp., Pa., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Twp., PA. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp., PA.
