John Thomas “Jack” Quinn, 86, of Pohatcong Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021.
Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late John and Clemma (Orange) Quinn. Though he lived in New Jersey for many years, he always identified as a proud New Yorker and loved sharing stories about the city with his children and grandchildren. An avid train enthusiast, Jack enjoyed model railroading and train excursions. In his younger years Jack backpacked and camped along the Appalachian Trail and visited the Shenandoah Valley. He loved reading, favoring historical novels and biographies.
A 27-year heart transplant survivor, Jack remained grateful for the gift he was given. His wife was his soulmate They had fun traveling together, especially to the Pennsylvania countryside. Jack had a quick wit and playful tease that brought joy to family gatherings. He was someone you could count on to be in your corner and his encouragement is still felt.
Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Phyllis (Anthony) Quinn, his children: Michael Quinn and his wife Kay, Sue Barrett and her husband Bill, Denise Tomevi and her husband Bruce, Linda Kelly and her husband Michael, Lisa Fink; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sons, John Quinn and Robert Fink.
