John S. Carroll

Born April 4, 1972, in Red Bank, NJ, he was the son of Carol Witterschein Carroll of Lopatcong Township, N.J., and the late Thomas Carroll.

John was employed at the Guardian Life Insurance Company in Bethlehem, PA, as a senior underwriter. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and Stockton University. He was also a member of Saints Phillip and James Catholic Church. An avid Washington Redskins fan, he was a member of the Old Timers Softball league, coached St. Philip & James softball and soccer teams, and enjoyed fishing in the Barnegat Bay, Cabo San Lucas, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Known for his sense of humor, he was a lover of people, particularly his wife and children.

Survivors are his wife, Cheryl A. Villani Carroll, and daughters: Katherine E. Carroll and Kelly A. Carroll. John is also survived by a brother, Robert R. Carroll, of Washington, NJ.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church at 430 So. Main Street in Phillipsburg. The interment will be at St. Philip & St. James Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.
