John F. Callery

John F. Callery, 64, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly on March 10, 2020.

Born on March 19, 1955, in Brunswick, GA, he was the son of the late William and Betty Jane (Storm) Callery.

John retired as a Corporal from the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission; he previously worked at the Hilltop Café, Phillipsburg, NJ for seventeen years. John was loved by everyone, he was very laid back and easy going. He loved all genres of music, particularly the Rolling Stones. John retained his childhood friends throughout his life, especially The Fillmore North Gang.  He was a member of the YMIA Club and Citizens Hose. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra A. (Bronico) Callery, his sister, Kathleen Fortun and her husband Rich, his sisters-in-law; Jeannie Berkowitz and her husband Jeff, Jennie Norrell and her husband Michael and Belinda Bray and her husband Ted, his nieces and nephews; Jarett and Calle Fortun, Juliah and Jeana Berkowitz, Kyle and Kirsten Norrell, Zeb Divittorio, Chelsea Busch and Shay Wester, his great-nephews, Carter and Weston Busch and his uncles, Ralph and Robert Firth.  In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Callery.

Viewing Hours are scheduled from 3 to 7 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St, Phillipsburg, NJ. An additional Viewing Period is set for the following day, Monday, March 16, 2020, at the funeral home, from 10 to 11 AM with a Funeral Service to directly follow. The entombment will then be at the Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Township, NJ.
