Jerome E. Boyer

Jerome E. Boyer, 96, of Easton, Pa., passed away on January 6, 2023 at St. Luke’s Easton Hospital.  Jerome was born in Reading, Pa. on September 25, 1926, the first-born child of the late Harry and Margaret Boyer.

Jerome graduated from Easton High School in 1944.  Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II in the South Pacific.  Jerome was stationed on the Island of Tinian in the Marianas as a member of the Navy Seabee Construction Battalion 1080.  During his service to our country, he received the following commendations: American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.  Trained at Davisville, R.I., this detachment transferred to Port Hueneme January 30, 1945, and moved to Oakland, Calif., February 14, for embarkation.  It arrived at Tinian in the Marianas in March and remained until the war’s end.

Jerome was employed as an instrument technician with Hoffman La Roche in Belvidere, New Jersey, retiring in January, 1989.

He is a lifetime member of the Roche Retiree Club, and St. Anthony’s Padua Church.

Jerome is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Josephine.

He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Hulsizer and her children, Bruce Nickum, and Barbara Hulsizer, all of Easton, Pa., Joan Bramick and her husband John of Bernardsville, N.J., and their daughter, Susan of Glen Gardner, N.J., and her children, Tanner, Lydia and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Bunny Boyer of Shillington, Pa.  Jerome was predeceased by his brother, Harry in March of 2010.

Additionally, he is survived by his life long family of in-laws: His brother-in-law Dominick Sidoti and his wife Julia of Washington, N.J., his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fischer and her husband Rene, Joan Krablin and husband Richard, all of Bethlehem, Pa.  Also surviving their Uncle Jerome are; Deborah Sidoti Hutcheson, husband Don, and son Andrew of Washington, N.J., Anne Cosenza and her son Blaise of Bethlehem, Pa., Mary Jo Delbene, husband Jason, and her sons Lucas and Gregory, David Sidoti, wife Bridget and daughters Courtney and Rebecca of Nazareth, Pa., Jeffrey Krablin, wife Christina and sons Eathan and Liam of Coral Gables, Fl.

Funeral services and interment will be private and are under the direction of the Finegan Funeral Home in Palmer Township, PA.
