James F. Swavely

James F. Swavely died peacefully, on June 9th, 2022, at 75 years old. 

Jim grew up in Lancaster, PA, with his parents and brother Bob. He attended Lehigh University and worked as a chemical engineer at Tarkett for over 20 years. He then worked as a statistician at Baseball Info Solutions, which he considered the best job ever since he was a diehard baseball fan. A passionate sports enthusiast, he refereed hockey, basketball and umpired baseball for many years. 

Jim's favorite hobby was riding his bike, which he particularly enjoyed doing in historic Gettysburg, PA. He was an avid chess player, amateur astronomer and enjoyed coin collecting, playing tennis and listening to classical music. He was also a member of the St. Jane's choir and lector at mass. 

Jim was preceded in death by his father Guy. He is survived by his mother Irene, brother Robert, wife Carol, his children Karen Troxell (Corey), Andrew (Kasia), Kateri (Tom Verenna), and Jimmy and grandchildren Ryder, Josephine, Alexandra, and Edlynn. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Jim's Funeral Services which will be held at St. Jane's Church, 4049 Hartley Ave, Easton, PA, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, beginning with a Viewing from 9 to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11 AM. The Interment will then be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Township, PA.

Jim's faith was very important to him, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to St. Jane's Church, via stjanesofeastonpa.com/donate and to Common Sense for Animals in NJ, in memory of Jim's love for rescuing animals, via commonsenseforanimal.org.
