Irene Sue Ahearn

Irene Sue Ahearn, 76, of Pen Argyl and Forks Township, PA, went Home to God and her Family, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Born on May 11, 1946, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Shandor) Wedo. Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Thomas F. Ahearn, Sr., in 1996.

Irene worked for Martin Guitar and in the Home Healthcare field. She absolutely loved to garden, her specialty being herbs and flowers. Irene always enjoyed her time spent with her friends and family and her Christian Faith was a very important part of her life.

Irene is survived by her children, Thomas F. Ahearn, Jr. and his wife, Paula and Marlana S. Brisgone, her grandchildren; Marc and Luke Ahearn, Aaron Knecht and his wife, Celsey and Alec and Adam Knecht, her great-grandchildren, Abram and Samuel Knecht, her siblings, Sherry Wedo and Frank Jamie Wedo and her nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Irene was predeceased by her twin sister, Rosemarie Picone.

A Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Township, PA.  A Funeral Service is then set for 11 AM the following day, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Benders Mennonite Church, 975 Benders Church Rd, Pen Argyl, PA, 18072, with the interment to follow at the Benders Mennonite Cemetery.

Donations may be made, in Irene’s name, to the Benders Mennonite Church.
