Irene M. Argentati

Born November 9, 1924, in Alpha, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Marczi Sr. and Mary Palko Marczi. She was also predeceased by her husband, Gino J. Argentati, who passed in 1995, and a daughter, the late Nilda Musiker, who passed in 2013.

Irene worked at various school cafeterias in the Phillipsburg School District and previous to that she was employed at Bell Telephone. She was a longtime member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church where she was active with the Legion of Mary and also served as a Eucharistic Minister, as well as volunteering at Warren Hospital.

Survivors are her children: Joan Blackwell and husband Bill, of Ottsville, PA, James Argentati of Tampa, Florida, and Nicholas Argentati of Milledgeville, Georgia. Her grandchildren are Daniel Muskier, Julie Eskuchen, Rebecca Blackwell, and Billy Blackwell as well as 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Andrew Marczi, and was also predeceased by siblings: Julius Marczi, Robert Marczi, Arpad Marczi, and Helen Pierfy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 6-8pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main Street in Phillipsburg. The entombment will be at St. Mary Mausoleum in Alpha, NJ.
