Grace S. Falcone, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Palmer Township, PA on Monday, September 7, 2020.
Grace was born Grace Elaine Schlegel on January 20, 1935 in Pottstown, PA to the late John N. and Grace W. Schlegel. Her family moved to College Hill in Easton, PA in 1941, where she graduated from Easton Area High School in 1952. She received her BS degree in Mathematics from Bucknell University in 1956, married her high school sweetheart John A. Falcone, and worked at Ingersoll Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ, as a mathematician in the Turbine Blower Department. After the birth of her first child, Grace became a homemaker, raising her four children and four of her grandchildren. In 1979 she went back to work in the Quality Department of Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph in Bloomsbury, NJ from where she retired. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John J Schlegel.
Grace loved her family. She is survived by her four children - Lisa A Falcone of Scottsdale, AZ, John J Falcone of Rancho Mirage, CA, Linda F Armour of Swarthmore, PA, and Donna M Falcone and husband Greg of Palmer Twp., PA. Six grandchildren are Nina, Nicole, Natasha, Megan, Ellen, and Peter, and two great-grandchildren, Harper and Kari.
Grace had a passion for sports. She could tell you about every player in the MLB. Her favorite pastime was to watch her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting games. She was an avid athlete, enjoying both tennis and bowling. She took long walks in her community and on the OCNJ boardwalk, her favorite vacation town.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Grace’s life will be conducted privately among her immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations to dedicate a boardwalk bench in Ocean City NJ. Checks can be made payable to Linda Armour and mailed to 20 Woodbrook Lane, Swarthmore, PA 19081.
