Gloria May (Marsh-Stametz) Rissmiller

She was born Gloria May Marsh in Wind Gap, PA on May 16th, 1928 to the late Elmer E. Marsh and Carrie (Ace) Marsh.  She attended the Pen Argyl School District schools.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Stanley C. Rissmiller in 1987.  They were happily married for 27 years.  She was also pre-deceased by her two sisters Mrs. Helen Everitt and Mrs. Myrtle Beers.

Gloria is survived by sons, Albert A Smith at home, Jerry W. Stametz and wife Sophie of Easton, PA, and Robert D. Stametz and wife Pat in Florida.  Surviving daughters are: Brenda J. Christy and her husband Dan of Stewartsville, NJ and Sharon A. Spencer and husband Jack of Easton, PA.  Gloria thought of all those mentioned above as her children.  There were no in-laws.  She was Mom to all.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grand-daughter as well as many nieces and nephews, 1 god-child, and many other extended family members and friends.

Gloria and Stanley ran the National Chef, National Grill, and Royal Diner #2 Truck Stops in Perryville NJ for 10 years.  Gloria later worked as a shift manager for Union 76 Truck Stop in Bloomsbury, NJ and TSA in Columbia NJ.  She ended her career retiring from Edna Mahan Correctional Institute for Women in Clinton, NJ, where she was employed as a dietician.

Gloria enjoyed sewing and crafting with her daughters, and crossword puzzles in her quiet time.   She was also actively involved in many of the activities at Faith Lutheran Church and especially enjoyed being involved with the “soup making” program.

Visitation and funeral arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St, Phillipsburg, NJ.  

Gloria’s family wishes to thank family physician Dr. Dilipkumar Bera for his excellent care of our family especially our mother over the many years.  She also thanks her church family at Faith Lutheran for their continued prayers and cards, and especially Pastor Crume and Elder Gary Sandt for their prayers, home visits, and hospital visits whenever she was ill.
