Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, on November 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Arthur and Doris Poyer Flyte.
Franklin was lovingly referred to as “Cowboy” by his family and friends; he was an excellent pitcher of quoits, a skilled handy-man and an exceptional artist.
He is survived by his wife Paula Bateman Flyte, his children; Doreen Flyte, Renee Carl, Michelle Cottingham and Candice Flyte, his seventeen grandchildren and his nineteen great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Franklin was predeceased by his son, Franklin J. Flyte, Jr.
Calling Hours are to be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ, from 10 AM to 12 PM, with a Memorial Service to directly follow.
