Eleanor “Tootsie” Riddle

Tootsie was born August 3, 1927 in Palmerton, PA to the late Charles and Rose Vlossak. She was the loving wife to Theodore C.  Riddle for 48 years before his death in 1997.

A 1945 graduate of Washington High School, she later attended Jersey City Nursing School and went on to become a Registered Nurse.  She was a proud member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Easton PA

 She previously lived in Washington, NJ, White Township, NJ and Pompano Beach, FL before moving to Palmer Township, PA in 1982. 

Tootsie was a selfless, loving, generous soul who spread joy wherever she went.  She left an impact on every person she met with her love of life and kind, infectious spirit. She had a love for traveling.  She visited Europe numerous times, countless Caribbean cruises, as well as traveling extensively around the United States. She never passed up an opportunity to attend any party, picnic or family gathering.

She came from a large, loving family and in her later years was the family matriarch.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Jeffrey Riddle and his wife Mary Jo of Forks Township, PA; Joan Cameron and her husband Derek of Blairstown, NJ; John Riddle and his wife Michele of Washington, NJ; her grandchildren, Rebecca Pringle and her husband Kevin of Stockertown, PA; Molly Riddle of Forks Township, PA; Raquel Madron and her husband Christian of Trabuco Canyon, CA; Benjamin Cameron of Blairstown, NJ, and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, James Riddle, and siblings, Anne McInerney, Joseph Vlossak, Barbara Rush, and Irene Halfacre.

Services will be private. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
