Edward J. Pacenti, Sr., 95, of Bloomsbury, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023 at The Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Twp., NJ.
Born in Phillipsburg, NJ on April 24, 1928, he was the son of the late James and Mary Sheola Pacenti. His wife, Phyllis L. Bercaw Pacenti, preceded him in death in 2019.
Edward was a carpenter and millwright most of his life, working with the Carpenter’s Union Local #399. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy aboard the USS O’Hare.
Edward was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a lifetime member of both the Bloomsbury Fire Co. and Bloomsbury Rescue Squad, The Church of the Annunciation and The National Association of Destroyer Veterans also known as “The Tin Can Sailors”.
He is survived by his children; Edward J. Pacenti, Jr. and his wife Mary, Sharon L. Kubich and her husband David, Jean M. Dech and her husband Rowland, Carol Ann Mink. Also surviving is his sister, Jeanette Castellano, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Services and interment will be held privately. The Finegan Funeral Home, Phillipsburg, NJ, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice at karenannquinlanhospice.org
