Dorothy C. Vianden

Dorothy C. Vianden, 87, of Phillipsburg, NJ, and formerly of Ridgefield, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Born on April 12, 1934, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Marion (Perrington) Metz. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage, John P. Vianden, in 2016.

Dorothy had a great love of sewing and dress making, worked in the jewelry industry for many years and loved to feed her family. She adored going to the shore, spending many evenings with her husband, John, strolling along the Wildwood, NJ, beaches enjoying the sunset. Dorothy was a dedicated mother who later in life loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Valerie Ambrosio, Brian Vianden and his wife Caroline and John J. Vianden and his wife Tracey, her grandchildren; Nicole, Victoria, Danielle, Michael, David, Kylie, Kerianne, Brian Jr., and Kathryn, her great-grandchildren; Emelia, Daniel and Braelyn, her sister, Joan Beeg and her nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, James Metz Jr and son-in-law, Daniel Ambrosio.

A Viewing has been scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 5 to 7 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St, Phillipsburg, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial is then set for 10 AM the following day, Friday, May 14, 2021, at Saint Mary Church, 830 5th Ave, Alpha, NJ. The interment will be at the Greenwich Cemetery, Stewartsville, NJ.
