Dennis R. Miller, Sr.

Dennis R. Miller, Sr., 74, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on May 31, 2022 at his home.

Born on November 9, 1947, in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Ralph G. Miller and Mary C. Nehila Miller.

Dennis was employed as a driver for many years with Wickes Lumber and General Supply. He attended Phillipsburg High School. Dennis was an exempt fireman with 19 years of service at Alert Hook and Ladder in Phillipsburg. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and #3, Dale Earnhardt, The NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. Dennis played softball for many years in the SPSJ Oldtimer’s Softball League, retiring after winning the league championship that year.

Surviving is his wife Lynda A. Kandl Miller. Lynda and Denny were together for 40 years. Also surviving are his children, Kerry Brown, Vicky Miller, Michael Miller and his step-son John A. Kluge, Jr. Dennis’ surviving sister is Mary S. Smith and he had 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Lynda G. French Miller Maloney; his son Dennis R. Miller, Jr.; his brother Dale R. Miller; and his step-son Joseph C. Kluge.

A viewing hour will be held on Saturday June 4, 2022 from 9 to 10 am at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ, followed by a funeral service at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Philip & St. James Cemetery in Greenwich Twp., NJ. The family has requested that anyone who is planning on attending Dennis' funeral, to please dress casually. Anyone who is planning on attending the gathering after the burial, please consider bringing a covered dish or dessert.
