Charles J. "Chubby" Bodogh
Charles J. “Chubby” Bodogh, 92, of Alpha, NJ, passed away on February 20, 2023. Born in Alpha, NJ on September 16, 1930, he was a son of the late Kalman and Pauline Shramko Bodogh. His wife, Mary G. Poretta Bodogh, passed away in 2006.
Charles began working as a farmer many years ago and was then employed as a carpenter and construction worker for several local companies. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. Charles was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, John Dolak American Legion and a social member of the Alpha Fire Co., all in Alpha, NJ.
Surviving are his sons, Thomas P. Bodogh and wife Margaret of Alpha,NJ and Paul C. Bodogh of Sciota, Pa. He has 6 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 3 great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters. Charles was predeceased by his son Charles K. Bodogh, sister Lenke Homa and brothers Edward, Carl and Eugene Bodogh.
Viewing hours will be held on Thursday February 23, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday February 24, 2023 at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
