Betty L. Robertson

Betty L. Robertson, 97, born on October 13th, 1922 in Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday August 28th at New Eastwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Easton, PA.

Betty graduated from Watertown High School in 1940 and married Gerald F. Castles on February 16, 1942. She was office manager and Certified Medical Assistant for Dr. Chris Ronson for many years, enjoyed drawing and was an avid bowler, golfer, and reader well into her retirement years.  An evening cocktail with gin was also her daily practice!

After the death of her husband Jerry, Betty began a new chapter in her life marrying James Robertson on October 1, 1983 and moving to Oregon. Together, they enjoyed a loving life, first in Oregon and then in Arizona. Following Jim’s death in 1993 she moved to Easton, PA to be near her family.

Betty is survived by her daughter Patricia (Donald) Martin of Clay, NY, her son-in-law Paul Pierce (Judy) of Phillipsburg, NJ; eight grandchildren, Julie (Michael) Duffy of Phillipsburg, NJ, Nancy (Jack) Coyle of Easton, PA, Teresa (Anthony) Mercado of Phillipsburg, NJ; Michael (Nicole)Pierce of Easton PA, Daniel (Katherine) Pierce of Mountain Lakes, NJ, Jeffrey Martin of Clay, NY, Suzanne (Peter) Carlsson of Ithaca, NY., and Kathleen (Terry) Mosher of Syracuse, NY. Betty is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Michele and Christopher Duffy, John and Alexis Coyle, Kayla and Matthew Mercado, Nicholas Pierce, Thomas Pierce, Abriella Martin, John and Oscar Carlsson, and Henry and Lucy Mosher.  Most recently, she was incredibly blessed with great-great granddaughters, Hadley, and Ellie Ann Ernst.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Reta Jaquith, her husband Gerald Castles, her newborn son, David, her beloved daughter Judy A. Pierce, her granddaughter Michele, and her second husband James Robertson.

While we are profoundly sad, her family is celebrating our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother’s 97 years of life and love.
