Bertha Jean Amey

Bertha Jean Amey, 88, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed at home in her sleep, with her family present, on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Born on December 30, 1934, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Mary (Giovannoli) DiVittorio. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Amey, who passed in 2014.

Bertha loved going dancing with her late husband, Earl, playing Bingo with her “Bingo Bunch” and enjoyed going out with her “Liquid Lunch Gang”. She was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and adored cooking for her family and friends. Bertha was the most terrific mother her sons could ever have asked for.

She is survived by her four sons; Alan Amey and his wife, Cathy, of Phillipsburg, NJ, Rob Amey and his wife, Diane, of Asbury, NJ, Jeff Amey and his wife, Cheryl, of Phillipsburg, NJ and Earl Amey II and his wife, Marsha, of Walnutport, PA, her ten grandchildren, her sixteen great-grandchildren, her great great-grandchild, her siblings, Roger DiVittorio and Diane Maslonka and her numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Bertha was predeceased by four of her siblings and her grandson, Bobby Amey.

A Graveside Service has been scheduled for 11:30 AM, on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Fairmount Cemetery, 117 Fairview Ave, Phillipsburg, NJ. The Finegan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
