Barry W. Schanstine

Barry W. Schanstine, 80, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away at his home on May 24th, 2023, surrounded by his daughters.

Born in Phillipsburg on July 12, 1942, and raised in Easton, Pa.  He was the son of the late Helen Van Nortwick Schanstine. His wife of 44 years, Sandra L. Keck, passed away in 2007.

Barry was employed by Mack Printing, formerly in Easton, Pa., for 52 years, retiring in 2013. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, from 1963 to 1967.

Barry is survived by his daughters; Catherine J. Rutledge and husband John, Christine E. Milelli and husband John, Caryn A. Schanstine and Colleen R. Schanstine;  a granddaughter, Kaitlin Belle Milelli; a brother, Frederick Schanstine and wife Jane; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Barry was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Diehl.

Barry graduated from Easton High School in 1960. He was a member of Easton-P’burg Football Club, Jersey Hose Football Club, Italian American Club, Huntington Firehouse, Palmer Firehouse, Safety First Fire Co., Republican Club of Wilson and Citizens Hose.

Viewing hours will be held on Tuesday May 30th, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at The Finegan Funeral Home 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 31st, 2023 at 10 am at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Greenwich Cemetery.
