Barry S. Barrett

He was born in Paterson, NJ to the late Joseph C. Barrett, Sr. and Brunell (Newbern) Barrett.  

He was employed as a chemical operator and lab technician. He was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ. He loved church coffee hour and his coffee crew. Bible study was an integral part of his life. Barry was a talented athlete and dancer. He had a love of New York City and enjoyed ice skating at Rockefeller Center. 

He was an enthusiastic New York Yankees and Giants fan, and a devotee of Muhammad Ali. He loved fishing at the Jersey Shore, Phillipsburg sports, all soul music, Dire StraitsBob Dylan, and Led Zeppelin. Barry was passionate about good Italian food, "real pizza", and the New York Italian Bakery. He was fond of old westerns and horror movies, and a mob trivia expert. Barry was comical, convivial, caring, and compassionate. His surviving friends will find it difficult to imagine a world without "Big Barry".  

He is survived by his son, Jesse C. Barrett, former spouse, Angela M. Fioranelli, and brothers; Joseph Barrett, Sr. and Christopher Barrett, Sr.; sister, Pamela Price, and beloved nieces and nephews: Joe, Christopher, Alicia, Debbie, Amanda, Carly; Lilah, Alessia, Carter, Graham, Addison, and Hannah; and Jesse’s sister and brother, Cheyenne and Cody. 

Calling hours will be held on November 6th, 2019, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg with a Memorial Service beginning at 7 P.M.
