Barbara E. Rossnagle

Barbara E. Rossnagle, 83, of Alpha, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 2, 2021.

Born on April 30, 1938, in Alpha, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Frey) Penyak.

Barbara graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1956 and married the love of her life, Francis T. Rossnagle, on May 4, 1957. She worked in Ingersoll-Rand’s accounting department, the Gary Lee Blouse Factory in Alpha, NJ, and she was a Queens Way Demonstrator. Barbara was a devout fan of the Philadelphia Eagles; she loved spending time in casinos and always enjoyed a game of bingo. Shopping was a love of hers as was her weekly trips to the hairdresser, but what she loved the most was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Barbara is survived by her husband, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, Francis, her daughters; Leigh Ann Smith, of Bethlehem, PA and Frannie Osborne and her husband Bob, of Holland Township, NJ, her grandchildren; Heather Hitzel, Ricky Hitzel and his wife Rachel, Ryan Osborne and his wife Joni and Holly Smith, her great-grandchildren; Shawn Pratt, Ryan Osborne, Jr., Jasper Osborne and Dexter Hitzel, her brother, Richard Penyak and her many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brothers; George and Bobby Penyak and her in-laws, Virginia and Frank Rossnagle.

Viewing Hours are scheduled for Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave, Alpha, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home the following day, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 10 AM. The interment will follow at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
