Arthur Francis Hausamann

Arthur Francis Hausamann died on February 26, 2020, at the House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown, NJ.

He was born on January 25, 1943 to Edith (Van Blarcom) Hausamann and August Arthur Hausamann in Paterson, NJ. He lived in Wayne, NJ, on a farm until 1961, when he left for college and the farm was sold. He graduated from Wayne High School that year and then received a BA from Cook College (Rutgers University) in Food Services in 1965. He later went to Rutgers University and received a MS in Economics. He entered the Army National Guard in 1965, serving for 5 years.

He was employed by the Federal Department of Agriculture, in the Division of Foreign Agriculture for over 30 years, traveling the world as a foreign attaché to assist small farmers to become more productive. For most of his adult life he lived in Bowie, Maryland, returning to New Jersey in 2010.

His last residence was Chelsea at Brookfield, in Belvidere, NJ.

He leaves behind his brothers, James Hausamann (Linda) of Chincoteague, VA, Robert Hausamann (Claudia) of Fresno, CA, and sister, Suzanne Henshaw (Charles) of Stewartsville, NJ. He is also survived by six nieces and five nephews and nine grand-nieces and eight grand-nephews. All his family will miss him, especially when they are considering the purchase of an automobile, since that was one of his many realms of extensive knowledge.

The family wishes to thank his caregivers at Chelsea and at the House of the Good Shepherd. He was very fortunate to receive supportive and excellent care.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at a future time.

In his memory, please consider donating to charities which support nature or history, two of his favorite things.
