Angelina M. Hajdu

Angelina M. Hajdu, 91, formerly of Alpha, NJ, passed away on March 6, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Born in Washington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Benny and Filomena Ciardiello Pisaniello. Her husband of 40 years, John Hajdu Sr., passed away in 1992.

Angelina was employed with Ingersoll-Rand as a Benefit Coordinator for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She was a graduate of Washington High School. Angelina was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Alpha, NJ, and was a member of several church groups, including the Altar Rosary Society, Friendly Visitors and a 50 year member of the Golden Age Club. She also volunteered her time with the Warren County Election Board and Taxes For Seniors. Angelina enjoyed playing cards and dancing, especially at The Mountain Lake Casino.

She is survived by her children, John Hajdu Jr. and his wife Pamela of Forks Twp., Pa., and AnnaMarie Balch of Barnegat, NJ. Angelina’s grandsons are Robert Balch, Richard Hajdu and Matthew Hajdu. Three great-grandsons are Malcolm, Lewis and Errol Balch. Angelina’s brother, Anthony Pisaniello, passed away earlier.

Viewing hours will be held on Thursday March 11, 2021 from 9 to 10 am at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ, followed by a Funeral Mass 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, 360 Prospect St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
