Andrew E. Marczi

Andrew E. Marczi, aged (88) from Phillipsburg, NJ passed away Tuesday, 06/29/21 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Wilson Borough.    Born in Alpha, NJ on (10/13/32), he was the son of the late Andrew Marczi and Mary Palko Marczi.  He was the dedicated and loving husband to the late Pearl E. Miller Marczi.  They shared 41 years of marriage together before, her passing in 2004. 

Andrew is survived by three daughters, Mary (Pete) Sherwood, Donna Marczi, and Dolores Camden, all of Wilson Borough.  He is also survived by two grandsons, Thomas and Matthew Camden, two sisters-in-law, Lilian Marczi and Helen Miller, and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.  He was predeceased by his son, Richard Marczi, who passed away in 2020, along with his siblings, Helen Pierfy, Arpad Marczi, Julius Marczi, Irene Argentati, and Robert Marczi. 

He was a (1951) Phillipsburg High School graduate.  After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War from (1951-1955).  He went on to work as a Machinist at Ingersoll Rand for 41 years, before retiring in 1992.

Prior to death, he was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Alpha, NJ, AARP, the American Legion, and a life-time member of the Palmer Township Fire Company.   Andrew’s hobbies included fishing and camping, which created many adventures and memories for his family.  He was a truly devoted and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, for which his family is eternally grateful.  His love and passion included singing and dancing whenever possible, and bringing fun and laughter to the party, wherever he went.    Andrew was also an avid P’burg Stateliner and NY Giants Fan.

Viewing hours will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ. Services will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2021, beginning at 9 am at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum in Greenwich Twp., NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice,2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, Pa. 18015
