Agnes M. "Aggie" Paulus

Aggie married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Paulus in 1952.  She cared for her husband at home after he suffered a massive stroke in 2001. They were married 59 years before his passing in 2012.

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Marion Lare Hoadley.  Aggie was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School She held various part time jobs while raising her family. She later was employed by Mont Blanc in Bloomsbury, NJ, as a customer service representative, retiring in 2000.

A caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Aggie loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner every week for whoever would show up. She also loved travelling to Atlantic City with her husband and any family member that wanted to tag along and try their luck at the casinos.  Most of all, she looked forward to her Friday night dinners with her niece, Linda and sisters-in-law. Aggie had an infectious smile that touched everyone.  She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed singing in the choir and also served on Church Council.

She is survived by her children, Robert, Nancy McRoberts and her husband Scott of Phillipsburg, and Charles of Kansas. Grandchildren are Ronnie Kosa; Robert Paulus; Scott, Lacey and Kyle McRoberts; Brooke Paulus.  Great-Grandchildren are Jake Kosa; Blake and Aubrey Paulus.  Her sister Edith Caleca is surviving. She was predeceased by her son Donald.

Viewing hours will be held on Sunday August 25, 2019 from 5 to 7 pm at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ.  Funeral services will be held on Monday August 26, 2019 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ.
